Distances are organized in NZ. Landscapes remain surprising and color from green hills to jagged mo

March 12. At Lake Wanaka we arrived late. Meanwhile, we have to realize that you're fine late afternoon can drive to the next destination. frappa At Lake Wanaka we plan on March 12, a day of rest. At least the morning. Nice luireren on the lake. The curiosity virus has become so ensconced in our minds that we still can not resist the afternoon 50 km unpaved withdraw ..... car or to furthest aaan. Mountains the Mount Aspiring emerges after a wonderful ride crossing sheep and cows for local color ....
Distances are organized in NZ. Landscapes remain surprising and color from green hills to jagged mountain ranges, beaches and cliffs within 50 kilometers. We drive on average per day, no more than 200 to 300 kilometers. frappa And surprise, wonder and curiosity in every next corner you about. So compact that country in its emptiness and natural beauty. The ride to Aspiring Moment is such a ride. The next day on the way to Fox Glacier. An absolute frappa must on our list ..... Fox Glacier is one of two major glaciers in NZ. The weather forecasts are just bad and a mountain can not be as glamorous .... rain and low clouds you see any thunder. The next travel day, March 13, is such a mileage-but-nothing-to-see-rainy day.
We pass one of the highest mountain passes in NZ, but it could just as well be the Maastunnel. In the fog An important event memorable! Whitebait Patties ..... mini nematodes (fish) used in egg batter on a baking sheet to delicious fish cakes. A bit strange but very tasty. We had this delicacy, served in a garage along the road by a super friendly lady, never tasted as no coincidence, that same morning, cousin Bas had emailed frappa ..... if this travel tip coincidence does not exist! Thnx Bass and Through!
Tips from our Omarama informant (see a few blogs back) were at Fox Glacier; visit Lake Matheson (mirror lake) and go hiking on the glacier with a guide either ... go flying over the glacier. Nice tips as you go through the rain and fog do not even know if there are mountains? But good. The next morning it seemed clear, so absurdly early under the damp rags come to Lake Matheson. Low-hanging clouds is beautiful and mysterious, but rather not today. The walk through the shadowy fairytale is great, but outside a zelgenoegzame German bitch who showed us pictures of a distant mirror reflection of an hour earlier ... "Hasst du aus but rather that damp cloths sparrows bowls ....." ... :-( ...... we mainly see reflections in the fog.
Could stop here. Day So beautiful it was. But some days are super special. This is one of them! Back from the lake inquire whether there are helicopter flights frappa are available today. It seems unlikely for the past two days there because the weather is not flown so there will be waiting lists. But .... nothing ventured nothing gained. Fifteen minutes later we are in the air!!! Crammed with four passengers in a small helicopter above the most beautiful glaciers, mountain peaks, ice fields, mountain lakes, glaciers crevices of the world! At 3000 meters we are on an ice sheet off and there are dots, snowflakes or dust in an infinite world. What is unreal beautiful!
